Extech have been supporting Francis Townsend and Hayward for about a year now following the decision to move from another IT provider. Through the various portfolio of products we have achieved stability and security throughout the company and all branches and home workers and we thank you for your excellent product recommendation and proactive advice/support.
One of the key aspects was to eliminate staff disruption and ensure that should the worst occur we could be sure that our data was safe and that server down time is kept to an absolute minimum. After consultation with you we decided to use a combination of the Doubletake product for instant failover and the IDS product for backup and data security.
We have had the IDS Backup system in place for a number of months and all appears to operate smoothly without any disruption. Although we have not had cause to invoke full disaster recovery which the system provides, there has been the need to restore files that have either been lost or accidentally deleted but in all cases these were restored within minutes of the call. Whereas it’s true therefore that we have not proved the worst case scenario, it is comforting to know that files can be restored at will when needed.
